International Knowledge Centre (IKnCentre)

About IKnCentre

In 21st century use of digital technology has become prominent and important for sustainable development, worldwide. However, a strong digital divide still exists specially in least developed and developing countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This limitation hampers knowledge and information flow from developed to developing and least developed countries. The knowledge in digital era is expanding fast in current times more than ever before. This necessitates transfer of technology from lab to land for enhancing food production while maintaining natural resource base and soil health, use of renewable green energy sources for meeting ever-growing energy demands, mitigating climate change through reducing greenhouse gas emission and enhancing adaptation of crop varieties to global warming and recurrent drought conditions, environment, and disaster management etc. Prudent technologies like climate resilient sustainable agriculture, food technologies, nano-biotechnology, role of digital technologies, environment and health, weather forecasting, disaster management etc. are being applied for food security, sustainability and one health.

Moreover, the world order is changing bringing new alliances to forefront in world polity and international trade and treaties. The quest to explore the world for different cultures, ethnicity, social moors is growing among youth globally. Integration and reintegration of academia and societies is seen valuable for sustainable development through mutual learning.

Keeping this in view, an International Knowledge Centre (IKnCentre) has been established at Mahatma Gandhi House, Göttingen, Germany under the flagship of International Foundation for Sustainable Development in Africa and Asia (IFSDAA) under its umbrella organization African-Asian Studies Promotion Association (AASF). As first activity of IKnC, this magazine christened as “Afro Asian Spectrum” (AAS) is being published for knowledge flow among countries, creating research networks among developed and developing countries, and resource mobilization for pursuing projects of mutual interest, technology transfer through public, private and non-government organizations for skills development, capacity building, entrepreneurship to generate livelihood through self-employment. This maiden issue of the Magazine is a first step towards the sequel of bringing useful information for systematic reading by researchers, research scholars, entrepreneurs, social activists, development functionaries and members of civil society globally as a gospel for one planet-one earth-one civilization for human dignity and coherent living.

Trust this Magazine will serve useful purpose and more and more valuable information and new knowledge will be shared by all stakeholders globally especially from African and Asian countries in times ahead.
